Jeffery Stevenson, 34, a man from Bakersfield, was shot to death just after 1 a.m. on October 14, 2025. Police were dispatched by a ShotSpotter alert to the 600 block of Sumner Street, where officers found Stevenson on the sidewalk with a gunshot wound; he was pronounced dead at the scene. The Kern County coroner later identified him, confirming his age and residence.
