On the morning of May 29, 2025, Darion Jones, a 19-year-old male from Dayton, was found dead inside an SUV near the intersection of West Grand and Lexington avenues, by Liberation Park. Neighbors had reported suspicious activity around 9:45 a.m., including gunfire, people running, and an abandoned vehicle. Responding officers discovered Darion Jones at the scene, and the Montgomery County Coroner�s Office later identified him as the victim as detectives opened a homicide investigation.
