In the summer of 1902, a popular dance at a farm known as Heslep's Grove in Donora, Pennsylvania, took a tragic turn, ending the life of an off-duty police officer. Clarence Lawrence Eaton, a 28-year-old male officer with the Donora Borough Police Department, was at the dance with his wife on the evening of Saturday, August 16th.
