Jay�vohn D. Foster, a 26-year-old African American male, was tragically shot and killed on July 23, 2021, in Champaign, Illinois. The incident occurred around 5 p.m. near the intersection of Edward Hoffman and Newcastle Drives. Foster sustained a life-threatening gunshot wound to the abdomen and was later pronounced dead at Carle Foundation Hospital at 5:23 p.m. The shooting took place in front of a private residence, adding to the shock and distress of the local community.
