Maurice D. Hart Jr., a 27-year-old African American male, was fatally shot on August 7, 2022, in the East Garfield Park neighborhood of Chicago, IL. The incident occurred around 12:20 a.m. while Maurice was standing on the sidewalk in the 2800 block of West Wilcox Street. According to the Chicago police and the Cook County medical examiner�s office, Maurice was shot in the chest by an unknown assailant. He was immediately transported to Mount Sinai Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
