In the quiet residential area of unincorporated Norcross, Georgia, the afternoon of April 6, 2020, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Responding to multiple 911 calls shortly before 5 p.m., Gwinnett County police officers arrived at the intersection of Goodwood Boulevard and Pirkle Road to a grim discovery. There, lying by the roadside, was 27-year-old Shane Lee Meyerhoffer, a male from Hayes, North Carolina. He had sustained at least one gunshot wound and was pronounced dead at the scene.
