On a tragic Wednesday afternoon, August 25, 2021, the life of 24-year-old Janarick Maleek Reed, an African American male, was cut short in Hinesville, Georgia. Reed was driving through the parking lot of a convenience store at the intersection of E.G. Miles Parkway and Palm Drive shortly after 2 p.m. when he was shot. He was rushed to Liberty Regional Medical Center but succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead.
