On a summer evening in Union City, Georgia, the life of Joshua JaQuan Roberts, a 34-year-old African American man, was tragically cut short. On June 2, 2022, while working as a Lyft driver, Roberts was fatally shot at the Netherley Park Apartments on Buffington Road. Police responded to a call of shots fired shortly before 7:45 p.m. and discovered Roberts in the driver's seat of his car, having been shot from behind.
