John Benjamin Alvarado, a 35-year-old Latino, was tragically shot and killed on June 1, 2014, in the Echo Park neighborhood of Los Angeles, California. According to the Los Angeles County coroner�s records, the incident occurred around 2:45 a.m. while Alvarado was walking southbound on North Alvarado Street.
