Loui Javier Martinez, a 28-year-old Latino, was fatally shot on October 22, 2016, near the intersection of Alameda and East 38th Street in Vernon, Los Angeles County. According to the Los Angeles County coroner�s records, the incident occurred around 1 a.m. when Vernon police responded to a call regarding a shooting in the area.
