Jennifer Josie �Mugzy� Martinez, a 24-year-old woman from San Jose, died on May 16, 2018, after a late-night shooting high in the city's eastern foothills. Earlier that evening, she and a friend drove up Sierra Road to a scenic overlook where people go to catch the lights of Silicon Valley below. What began as a quiet hangout�music playing, drinks shared, a little dancing under the open sky�ended in gunfire on a dark, remote stretch of road where help was far away and witnesses were few.
