On September 23, 2018, Markie Miranda, a 30-year-old resident of San Bernardino, California, was fatally shot in a residential neighborhood known for gang activity. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 1:45 a.m., near the 1500 block of West 8th Street. Officers responded to reports of gunfire in the area and shortly thereafter, a local hospital reported that a shooting victim had been dropped off at the emergency room with life-threatening injuries.
