On August 24, 2020, Jose Gaytan, a 38-year-old resident of San Jose, California, was tragically killed in a shooting incident. The shooting occurred on the 400 block of North 12th Street, near Washington Street, around 8:10 a.m. When officers arrived at the scene, they found Gaytan suffering from at least one gunshot wound. Despite their efforts, Gaytan was pronounced dead at the scene, marking the 24th homicide in San Jose for that year.
