In the vast and often perilous waters of the Aleutian Islands, the life of 37-year-old James David Weber of Kodiak, Alaska, became inextricably linked with the sea's formidable power. On June 26, 1991, James, a male commercial fisherman, was aboard the 37-foot vessel, the Betty B, alongside skipper Patrick Flanery, age 36, of Sitka.
