In the Alaskan spring of 1992, a young man named Philip Guy Balluta, just 22 years old, set out on a journey by skiff from Kodiak to the small village of Ouzinkie. He was not alone on this fateful trip across the turbulent waters of the North Pacific. Accompanying him were 33-year-old Emanual Charliaga and 21-year-old Robin Squartsoff.
