On May 7, 2006, 37-year-old Norman John Fain was aboard the fishing vessel 'Calico Dog' near Priest Rock, approximately 12 miles east of Dutch Harbor, Alaska. He was accompanied by another individual when a sudden series of powerful waves struck the vessel, causing it to capsize. The violent force of the water threw both men into the turbulent sea.
