In the summer of 2020, a sense of unease settled over a family in Keizer, Oregon, when 39-year-old Michael James Scofield vanished. His last day of known contact was August 17, 2020. The following day, a Tuesday, Michael uncharacteristically failed to show up for his job. This out-of-character absence prompted his employer to contact his family, who immediately went to his home.
