On a brisk autumn day, November 21, 2001, 18-year-old Eugene Harold Hyatt and his 16-year-old girlfriend, Kami Luella Vollendroff, disappeared from the scenic but rugged coastline of Newport, Oregon. The young couple from Stayton, Oregon, were visiting with Eugene's grandparents and staying in their oceanfront condominium.
