In the spring of 2020, as the world was beginning to grapple with a global pandemic, 45-year-old Sandee Suzanne Hines vanished from her home in Mesa, Arizona. She was last seen by a neighbor on March 1, 2020. Standing at 5'9" with brown hair and blue eyes, her sudden disappearance left her family, including her adult children, deeply concerned when she ceased all communication. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance are intertwined with the criminal case of her husband, Jason Hines, who was facing serious charges and is now a fugitive. The complexities of Sandee's case are deeply connected to her husband, Jason Hines, who was on an ankle monitor for three years after being arrested for a sex offense in 2017. Sandee had reportedly helped raise money to bond him out of jail. In the time leading up to her disappearance, there were signs of upheaval. Neighbors reported a yard sale at their house in late February 2020, where it appeared they were selling all their belongings. Around the same time, Sandee's mother grew concerned when the mortgage on their house went unpaid and Sandee's phone was disconnected. She managed to reach Sandee through Jason's phone, and Sandee admitted to being under a great deal of stress. Shortly after Sandee was last seen, Jason missed a scheduled court date on March 3, 2020. Following her disappearance, Sandee was officially reported missing to the Mesa Police Department on March 9, 2020. The investigation uncovered troubling evidence. On April 10, 2020, surveillance video captured Sandee's car being parked in a Mesa lot; Jason Hines was seen driving the vehicle and then getting into another car, with no sign of Sandee. Later that month, on April 22, Jason was spotted at a hotel northwest of Phoenix with their three dogs, but again, Sandee was not with him. Her mother visited the house after she vanished and noted that while all of Jason's belongings were gone, Sandee's remained. This has led to the prevailing question in this case: whether Sandee is willingly on the run with her fugitive husband or if she has become a victim of foul play. The Mesa Police Department, in conjunction with the U.S. Marshals, continues to search for Jason Hines, while Sandee's case remains an active missing person investigation, leaving her loved ones in a painful state of uncertainty.
