In the late summer of 2022, concern grew for a Columbia, South Carolina teenager who seemingly vanished. Shaniya Rose Nichols, a 17-year-old female, was last seen on August 24, 2022. On the day she went missing, her attire was described as all black, with her shorts having distinctive purple bubbles, and she was carrying an Adidas backpack. The Richland County Sheriff's Department was involved in the investigation into her disappearance.
