On August 27, 2022, Steve Keel, a 61-year-old man from Dover, Tennessee, vanished while on a caribou hunting trip in the remote, northern region of Deadhorse, Alaska. An experienced outdoorsman and Marine veteran, Steve had traveled to Alaska with a friend for what was their first hunting expedition in the state, after many trips together over the previous decade.
