On February 28, 2019, 70-year-old James Pruitt, an avid hiker from Etowah, Tennessee, embarked on a day hike in the picturesque but challenging terrain of Rocky Mountain National Park in Colorado. He parked his vehicle at the popular Glacier Gorge Trailhead, a starting point for numerous scenic trails.
