In the summer of 2026, a sense of concern fell over the community of Lake Wales, Florida, with the disappearance of 64-year-old Eric Alvin Maples. A resident of Polk County, Mr. Maples was last seen on July 21, 2026. Standing at six feet tall and weighing around 190 pounds, with gray or partially gray hair and hazel eyes, his sudden absence prompted his case to be entered into the National Missing and Unidentified Persons System.
