On an early October day, David Lunde, an avid and experienced 30-year-old trail runner, set out to conquer a portion of the challenging 'La Plata Enchilada' trail in the rugged La Plata Mountains of Colorado. He was last seen after leaving for his run in the morning. He was reported missing after he failed to return and did not show up for his job working with cattle at a local ranch.
