On the evening of December 29th, Cyrus was on a supervised walk with another juvenile from the Jackson County Juvenile Detention. When a staff member instructed them that it was time to return inside, both youths fled. While the other individual was located shortly thereafter, Cyrus remained missing, prompting concern for his welfare. At the time of his disappearance, he was wearing a black puffy jacket, black skinny jeans, and blue and black Jordans. The Medford Police Department sought public assistance in locating the missing teenager. Cyrus was described as being six feet tall and weighing approximately 160 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes. His case was entered into the Medford Police Department's system under case number 25-22306 as authorities began their search and appealed to the community for any information that might lead to his safe return. The circumstances of his disappearance, running from staff during a supervised outing, created a sense of urgency in the efforts to find him. Ultimately, the search for Cyrus Carter concluded with him being found alive. The initial uncertainty and concern surrounding his sudden disappearance transitioned to relief. This case serves as an overview of a missing person report that began with a concerning flight from supervision and ended with the individual being safely located.
