Laura N. Macke, a 35-year-old experienced hiker, was last seen on October 30, 2022, in Quinault, Washington. She had traveled from Vermont to embark on a solo hiking trip in Olympic National Park, a place she chose for its challenging yet manageable trails. Her plan was to hike to the Enchanted Valley, with a backcountry permit for October 30-31 that included camping at Pyrites Creek.
