On the evening of November 4, 1993, a 41-year-old woman named Sandra Bennett, also known as Sandy, was seen for the last time in Anchorage, Alaska. Originally from California, she had moved to Anchorage some years prior and was a mother to three grown children. Those who knew her described it as uncharacteristic for her to be out of contact with her loved ones. On the night she vanished, she was at the Carousel Lounge in the Spenard area of Anchorage. She reportedly left the lounge around 7:00 p.m. in her small, light blue GMC pickup truck. It is believed she was on her way to Wasilla with a significant amount of cash, estimated to be between $13,000 and $17,000, with the intention of meeting two individuals to purchase drugs. The day after Sandra was last seen, her pickup truck was discovered abandoned in the parking lot of a 7-11 convenience store at the intersection of Arctic Boulevard and International Airport Road. The door to her vehicle was ajar, and inside, her eyeglasses were found, but there was no trace of Sandra. At the time of her disappearance, it was reported that she was dating a drug dealer from New York and was involved in his dealings. She had previously worked as a waitress at the Keyboard Cafe. Authorities investigating Sandra Bennett's disappearance have classified her case as a homicide, although her body has never been recovered. The prevailing belief among investigators is that she was likely robbed of the large sum of money she was carrying and then murdered by the individuals she intended to meet. Despite the passage of time, her case has remained unsolved, leaving her family and community without answers. The circumstances surrounding her disappearance point to a planned meeting that took a tragic turn, ending in her presumed death. Her case is a somber reminder of the dangers associated with the world she was reportedly involved in, and the lasting pain experienced by the families of the missing.
