In the early morning hours of December 18, 2005, 20-year-old Emilio Acosta-Gutierrez vanished from his family's home in Weehawken, New Jersey. His parents reported that at approximately 1:30 a.m., they were awakened by their son rummaging through a closet in their bedroom. He grabbed two backpacks and quickly left the residence.
