In the fall of 2021, 78-year-old Duane Miles, a lifelong resident of Forks, Washington, and an experienced outdoorsman, disappeared while on a day hike in the familiar terrain of Olympic National Park. The last verbal contact anyone had with him was on October 18, 2021. He was seen the following day, October 19, driving his vehicle near Kalaloch, heading towards the Graves Creek area of the park.
