Maria Fatema Soares, a 61-year-old woman from Newark, New Jersey, was reported missing after she was last seen on July 1, 2025. Her disappearance prompted concern from her family and an appeal to the public for assistance by the Newark Department of Public Safety. Ms. Soares was last seen in the vicinity of the 100 block of Polk Street. Authorities and loved ones were especially worried as it was reported that she had been experiencing depression.
