He also has several identifying marks, including a large surgical scar on his abdomen from his sternum to his belly button and a caterpillar-shaped scar on his right wrist. It was also noted that both of his ears are pierced, but he was only wearing one earring on the day he disappeared due to some irritation. The urgency of the search for Dwane Scott is significantly heightened by his serious medical conditions. He suffers from dementia, has a history of strokes, and has been diagnosed with brain matter disease and stage 4 kidney disease. Additionally, he is an insulin-dependent diabetic who requires insulin four times a day and takes medication twice daily to control seizures. These health issues necessitate 24-hour supervision, and he is known to have poor balance, hearing, and vision, which can lead to confusion. Compounding the family's worry is the fact that Dwane left his home without his wallet or his cell phone, leaving him with no easy way to contact anyone for help or to be identified.
