In the autumn of 1972, John Dewayne Burrell, a 35-year-old man from Horatio, Arkansas, embarked on a journey that would ultimately lead to his disappearance. He left his home on November 4, 1972, traveling to McCurtain County, Oklahoma, in the company of another individual.
