In the late afternoon hours on the island of Maui, a sense of concern began to grow for Brandon Romero. He had traveled from his residence in Kihei to Hana for a medical appointment, seeking help for a persistent pain in his lower right side. The last confirmed sighting of the 40-year-old was in the clinic's parking lot as the doctor departed for the day. After that moment, communication from Brandon ceased.
