Portia Wheeler was a 37-year-old Black woman and Army veteran whose disappearance began in the borderland community around Columbus, Georgia, and eastern Alabama. She was last seen on December 1, 2024, in Fort Mitchell, Alabama, with reporting also placing her as leaving a friend�s home in nearby Phenix City, Alabama, only minutes from her residence in Columbus, Georgia.
