Virginia Lee, a 61-year-old African American woman, was a resident of Midway in Liberty County, Georgia. On the morning of Saturday, August 10, 1985, she was at her home with her grandchildren. It is believed that at some point between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 12:00 p.m., she walked away from her residence. When she was last seen, she was wearing a long brown skirt that had a white frilled hemline, a blue blouse, and blue tennis shoes.
