On the last day of 1999, Patsy Ruth Nonemaker, a 55-year-old woman from Shepherdsville, Kentucky, disappeared from her home. The day was December 31, and Patsy was last seen at her residence at about 4:00 p.m. She had been grappling with depression and mental illness for a number of years, and 1999 had been an especially difficult year for her.
