In the spring of 2000, a sense of unease settled over a family in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, following the disappearance of 52-year-old Joseph Hayes. He was last seen on May 20, 2000, at a relative's home located in the 6000 block of Lotus Street. On that day, Hayes was observed walking away from the residence and has not been seen or heard from since.
