In the early morning hours of September 12, 2003, 19-year-old Scott Matthew Sells was last seen at a relative's home in Eugene, Oregon. The residence was located in the vicinity of Adams Street and 4th Avenue. At the time of his disappearance, Scott was described as a Caucasian male, standing at 6 feet tall and weighing between 145 and 160 pounds. He had red/blond hair and hazel eyes. A notable distinguishing feature was a missing front tooth; he had a metal dental implant screw visible in his gum, as he had not yet received the crown. Scott was also known to have a medical condition, schizophrenia, for which he required medication. Initial thoughts about Scott's disappearance centered on the possibility that he had boarded a Greyhound bus with the intention of traveling to Arcata, California. However, investigations revealed that he never reached his destination, and it remains uncertain if he ever got on the bus at all. His family expressed that it was unusual for him to be out of contact. There was a potential sighting of Scott in the area of Lane Community College in Eugene in early 2004, but this was never confirmed. His case is classified as an endangered missing person, partly due to his medical condition and a history of substance use. The disappearance of Scott Sells has remained an unsolved case for many years, leaving his family and community with unanswered questions. The Eugene Police Department has listed him as a cold case and continues to seek information from the public that might lead to a resolution. The circumstances surrounding his vanishing are still unclear. Without any definite leads after the initial investigation, the trail grew cold, leaving a lingering sense of uncertainty about what happened to the young man who disappeared on that September morning.
