In the fall of 2005, 48-year-old Roy Loren Stephens, a chef and father of three, vanished under puzzling circumstances in Oregon. On the evening of November 16, 2005, after finishing his shift at the Odell Lake Lodge and collecting his paycheck, Roy made plans to unwind. He called his wife, Marilyn Lightner, inviting her to join him for dinner and drinks at a local tavern in Crescent, but she was feeling unwell and declined.
