George William Hawkins, a 46-year-old constable and general store owner from Persimmon Grove, Kentucky, disappeared on April 3, 1961. On the morning he went missing, he prepared breakfast for his daughter before she left for work. He then departed in his tan 1959 Plymouth Fury station wagon.
