On August 22, 2001, four-year-old Adam Shannon and his younger brother, Jason, were taken for a court-approved, unsupervised visit with their non-custodial mother, Nermeen Osama Shannon, from their home in Rosedale, Maryland. This visit, however, was the beginning of a heart-wrenching international child abduction case.
