In the quiet, early hours of a rainy April morning in Enfield, Connecticut, Awilda Marrero vanished from her home on Asnuntuck Street. The 43-year-old was last seen by her daughter around 11:30 p.m. on April 6, 2009. When her family awoke the next day, she was gone. She had stepped out into the night leaving behind all of her personal belongings, including her purse and cell phone.
