In the autumn of 1973, 18-year-old Sandra "Sandy" Hopler was a student at Keystone Junior College in La Plume, Pennsylvania. On September 29th, she informed her roommate of her plans to take a trip to New York City. Sandra, known to her friends and family as Sandy, was last seen that day at the Martz Trailway Bus Station in Scranton, Pennsylvania. At the time of her disappearance, she was described as a white female with light brown hair and hazel eyes. She had several distinguishing marks, including a mole on the back of her right hand between her thumb and index finger, a small mole near the left side of her lip, and a small scar in one eyebrow. Her ears were pierced, and she wore eyeglasses. On the day she went missing, Sandra was wearing a burgundy blazer, a dark-colored blouse, and was carrying a tan shoulder purse. She also had on a new Seiko watch with a gold face. The specifics of what happened after Sandra Hopler was last seen at the bus station remain scarce, and her case has grown cold over the decades. She never reached her destination in New York City and has not been seen or heard from since that day in 1973. The Pennsylvania State Police are the investigating agency on her case, but few details about the investigation have been made public. Over the years, law enforcement has received tips and conducted interviews, but none have led to a breakthrough in solving the mystery of her disappearance. Decades have passed since Sandra Hopler vanished, leaving her family and friends with unanswered questions and a void that cannot be filled. The passage of time has not diminished the hope of discovering what became of the young college student who had her whole life ahead of her. The case is an enduring mystery, a reminder of a life interrupted and the lasting pain of not knowing. The investigation into Sandra Hopler's disappearance remains open, a cold case that continues to seek the one piece of information that might finally bring her home.
