In the winter of 1993, an 87-year-old man named John Denner Bean vanished from East Norriton Township, Pennsylvania. He was last seen on the afternoon of February 16th at the Facenda-Whitaker Bowling Alley. At the time of his disappearance, Mr. Bean was described as being alert and fully aware of his surroundings. He was a resident of the neighboring Skippack Township. For reasons that remain unknown, he never returned to his home that day and has not been seen or heard from since. Concerns for Mr. Bean's welfare grew, and on February 27, 1993, eleven days after he was last seen, a neighbor officially reported him as a missing person. The investigation into his disappearance began, and on March 1st, a significant clue was discovered. Mr. Bean's 1991 black Ford Ranger pickup truck was found abandoned in the parking lot of the very same bowling alley where he was last seen. The discovery of his vehicle, however, did not lead to any further information about his whereabouts. The years have passed without any resolution in the case of John Denner Bean. The home he once lived in in Skippack Township has since been demolished, and an elementary school now stands in its place. Despite the passage of time, his case remains open and is considered an endangered missing person case. The lack of evidence and leads has left his family and the community with unanswered questions about what happened to him after he left the bowling alley on that February day. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain a mystery, and the case continues to be an unsolved chapter in the community's history.
