On the morning of March 14, 1998, 39-year-old Leonard 'Lenny' Dirickson, a male from Strong City, Oklahoma, was at his farmhouse with his teenage son when a stranger arrived. The man, who has never been identified, pulled up in a white 1994 Ford F-150 pickup truck. After a brief conversation outside, Dirickson came back into the house and informed his son that the man was interested in a stud horse he had for sale.
