On a seemingly ordinary day, March 1, 2003, 84-year-old Ulpiano Gomez vanished from Vineland, New Jersey. The elderly Hispanic male was last seen at midday leaving a residence on South Seventh Street. He had a simple plan: to walk approximately two miles to the Maintree Shopping Center to buy a remote control from Radio Shack.
