James David Hunter, who often went by his middle name, David, was a 57-year-old man from Magnolia, Arkansas, at the time he disappeared. He is described as a white male with sandy, thin hair worn to about mid-neck, and standing at 5 feet 11 inches tall. There is some discrepancy about his eye color, with family reporting them as blue and official records noting them as green. A distinctive feature was a scar running down the middle of his chest.
