In the early morning hours of April 15, 2000, 27-year-old Davis Cortez, a man known for his reliability, vanished from his overnight shift in Kapaa, Hawaii. He was working at the Amfac/JMB Lihue Plantation sugar cane processing plant, a place where he was tasked with oiling and maintaining the heavy machinery.
