In the early morning hours of September 16, 2023, 31-year-old Kyle Daniel Garza, a resident of Port Huron, Michigan, contacted his employer to let them know he wouldn't be coming in to work. This would be the last confirmed communication anyone had with him. Concerns grew as friends and family were unable to reach him in the following days. Kyle, a Hispanic male with long brown hair and brown eyes, was approximately 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighed around 120 pounds. He has a noticeable scar in the center of his chest from a past surgery and a tattoo of his last name, "Garza," across his upper back. At the time of his disappearance, he was driving a black 2008 Ford F-250. The investigation into Kyle's whereabouts began to piece together a timeline of his last known movements. Authorities were able to track the Ford F-250 he was driving from the Port Huron area towards Detroit. License plate recognition cameras last captured the truck's location on September 16, 2023, in the vicinity of 8 Mile and Mound Roads in Detroit. In the early hours of the following day, September 17th, security footage recorded Kyle at a Zoom gas station on Plymouth Road in Detroit, where he was seen pumping gas into the truck. This was the last time he was visually confirmed. A day later, on September 18th, his cell phone pinged for the last time near Pallester Street in Detroit before it was shut down. Nearly two months after he was last seen, a significant development occurred in the case. On November 11, 2023, the Ford F-250 Kyle had been driving was discovered parked in the lot of an apartment complex on Whitmore Street in Detroit. The truck was reportedly in good condition, and tellingly, Kyle's personal belongings were found undisturbed inside. Despite the recovery of the vehicle, there has been no sign of Kyle and no activity on his accounts. The circumstances surrounding his disappearance remain unclear, leaving his loved ones and investigators with many unanswered questions. The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office continues to seek information from the public that could help locate him.
