In the summer of 2009, a 26-year-old woman named Shawn "Heather" Maude disappeared from Roseburg, Oregon. She was last seen on the first of July of that year. Known to her loved ones as Heather, her sudden silence was alarming. It was highly uncharacteristic for her to not be in contact with her mother, with whom she usually kept in regular touch. At the time she went missing, Heather had been living in the Roseburg area, a place she had known her entire life and where she was a familiar face in the community. Specifically, she was known to be staying around the North Bank Road and Old Melrose Road areas. Shawn Heather Lynn Maude is a Caucasian female with blond or strawberry blond hair and green eyes. She stands at five feet eight inches tall and weighs approximately 150 pounds. Her appearance is distinguished by several tattoos and a piercing. She has a piercing in her right eyebrow. On her right hand, she has a tattoo of the number one inside a circle. Her left arm is adorned with a teardrop band around the upper portion, and her left calf has an unfinished tattoo of the name "Brian" accompanied by a butterfly. It has been noted that Maude associated with individuals involved in drug use, a factor that has caused concern for her welfare. Despite her being last seen at the beginning of July, Shawn Maude was not officially reported as a missing person until over a month later, on August 10, 2009. The Douglas County Sheriff's Office is the investigating agency handling her case. Due to the circumstances of her disappearance and her lifestyle, authorities suspect that she may have met with foul play. Over the years, very little information has been made public about the investigation, and her case has grown cold.
